Nice striker Alassane Plea has received interest from Premier League sides Newcastle and Burnley, and it is understood by Calciomercato that Everton are now pursuing the 25-year-old.
Plea has scored 13 goals in 30 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season, following 11 goals in his previous season when Nice finished 3rd in the league.
Despite promising signs from Cenk Tosun, who has scored four goals so far, it is no secret that Everton are in need of a new forward after a disappointing campaign sees them currently placed 9th in the Premier League table.
Currently, Everton have Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Oumar Niasse, Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott as potential options for the striker position, none of which seem likely to take control and score the goals to fire Everton into European football.
Plea is a key player for Nice and Lucien Favre’s side will surely be desperate to retain his services.
